Keeshond pronounced ''case-hond',
were originally used as watchdogs on the barges in Holland. They
are a very reliable, adaptable dog that makes a loyal family pet.
They are intelligent and easy to train, although can be clownish
and mischievous at times. The Keeshond loves everyone and needs
to be part of the family activities. They are generally good with
other pets, although some individuals are timid, and should be socialized
as puppies. Theycan be good swimmer and generally love water. They
like to bark and are good watchdogs because of its notable gift
for warning of danger. Beware of overfeeding, for the Keeshond will
gain weight easily.
Grooming-
regular brushing is needed to keep the coat looking good with a
little extra care needed when they shed. Bath or dry shampoo when
necessary.
Exercise-
regular exercise will keep them fit and happy.
Health-
This breed is generally sound but some can suffer from hip dysplasia,
heart problems and eye diseases.
